WHAT'S CHANGED
Missing persons investigation and skip tracing has moved from number one to number four. Way up is countermeasures, insurance claims, auto accident investigation, computer security, auto repossession, executive protection nanny investigations and corporate investigations. A few years ago, child abuse investigations wasn't even thought of as a mainstay investigative specialization and wasn't even in the top 50 specializations. Now it's number 18 and moving up. It also appears that fraud investigations of all types has jumped. Some would say this this is a reflection of declining morality. However, it's likely a result of bringing more things out in the open.

Domestic investigations (divorce) was the mainstay of the private investigative industry in the 1950's and 1960's and often came in as the number one specialization. That's all changed and the reasons for the investigation has changed. Information Broker, once in the top five just a few short years ago is no longer in the top ten.
