Portable Reel To Reel Universal Transistor Tape Recorder
1960's
When transistors started to be used in tape recorders, they become less
bulky and less expensive. They also lasted longer as tubes would burn
out or break if recorders got moved around a lot. The above photos are
of a state-of-the-art high quality recorder from the 1960's. Note the
knobs which were typical for that time period.
