Vintage Covert Surveillance
StealthCam In Radio 1970's
Before the age of digital video and pinhole lens cameras certain people
with specialized knowledge and innovation had limited ways to disguise
a video camera for stationary covert video surveillance. Here is an early
stationary covert surveillance StealthCam built into a radio. The inner
workings of the radio have been taken out to make room for a video camera
and a hole drilled in the side so a VHS camcorder could be placed in it.
Crude by today's standards since current
StealthCams can be built into working clocks and clock radios without
any visible lens and have motion activation, time and date stamping and
digital video recorders, this unit served it's use in it's time period
and was considered state-of-the-art and very high tech. This unit sold
for what would be about $3,500.00 by today's standards. Really pricey
for what one can obtain today. Notice the camera lens and bulky JVC movie
camera. Compare this crude model to today's high tech cutting-edge standards
below.
